Ouch.
Yeah, I often imagine these types of scenarios when driving through long narrow underground tunnels. Especially the ones which reverse traffic flow during rush hour. Scary stuff, because there is pretty much nowhere to go and hard for help to get to you once the shit hits the fan .
And then what if the tunnel starts flooding? (Not that it would happen, but if we're talking tunnel fears...)

Wrong way tunnel happens more than I’d care to see. Last year during one evening an only Benzo came down wrong way, passing cars, they stopped traffic and they did a 3 point in tunnel turn around.
Few months ago a couple got on 264 before the Berkely bridge wrong way, passing traffic, drove the wrong way down the highway for about 2 miles before a head on collision with a Tacoma killing the wrong way driver's passenger.

From just a few weeks ago, Illinois state trooper deliberately crashed with a wrong-way driver on the highway to stop him. Gave his life.
